A WISE MAN WATCHES HIS FAULTS MORE CLOSELY THAN HIS VIRTUES; FOOLS REVERSE THE ORDER.
We all have within us the potential for greatness or for failure. Both possibilities are an innate part of our character. Whether we reach for the stars or plunge to the depths of despair depends in large measure on how we manage our positive and negative potential. It is doubtful that, if left unchecked, your virtues will rage out of control. Unfortunately, the reverse is not true about your faults. Left unattended, faults have a way of multiplying until they eventually choke out your good qualities. The surest way to control your faults is to attack them the moment they appear.
We all know that we have faults whether we believe it or not. We all have to answer to a higher self eventually. Do we want to be whole and alive when we leave this planet or do we want to be sorry for the life we have lived here on this earth? Our goal should be to live a fulfilled, grateful life filled with love, peace, happiness and harmony. The way to live this kind of life is to ask God, our Creator, to take us there each and every day. Wake up to who you are and ask what more you can become.
As children, the vast majority were at one point in time taught about God, His heaven, His creation and how we came to be here. It's unfortunate and sad that these values were not instilled in many. As we evolved through the stages that took us forward into adult life, capable of making our own decisions, how much of those early teachings have remained with us? Funny how things change, how are worlds change, how material things have now grown into something that control our world leaving the early teachings just a distant memory.
